- How does the What Do You Think reward program work?
To participate in the What Do You Think reward program, you will need to submit a valid registration and comfirm your email address. Once we have confirmed your registration, you can earn points by participating in surveys, responding to relevant email promotions, and by viewing onsite promotions. You can then start making money online by using the points you've earned to redeem rewards such as gift cards, movie tickets or real cash online straight into your bank account.
- Does What Do You Think have a Facebook page?
Yes, WDYT has a Facebook page. You can access the WDYT Facebook page here. As well as keeping up to date with everything that is going on at WDYT, you can also use the WDYT.app. With the WDYT.app you can earn points and redeem your rewards all while using Facebook. Like us on Facebook here.

- What is cashback Shopping?
WDYT.com.au cashback shopping is a great way to earn additional points by shopping online with our wide range of reward partners. Each time you click through from the WDYT.com.au shopping site to our retailers site, you will earn rewards points for each dollar you spend. You will be able to see your shopping purchases here.
- How does WDYT.com.au Rewards Shopping work?
Earn points every time you shop online by making your purchase using a WDYT.com.au Rewards Shopping partner. Every time you make a purchase with one of our reward partners, you will be awarded part of your purchase amount as a reward which you can use to redeem for real cash on the WDYT.com.au site.
- How do I earn reward points shopping online with WDYT.com.au?
So that you are rewarded for shopping online, you need to find your preferred retailer in the reward partner catalogue and click on the “Shop Now” button that is included in the partners profile. If you see a specific product you like, you can also click through and buy that product by using the “Buy Now” button associated with that product. Remember to use this link each time you would like to make a purchase with the retailer.
- How can I make sure I always get my points for shopping with WDYT rewards partners?
Yes, each time you would like to make a purchase with your selected retailer, you need to click on the “Shop Now” link on the reward partners profile or use the “Buy Now” link if you are selecting a specific product.
To ensure you receive your reward points for using WDYT.com.au Rewards Shopping, you need to click on the “Shop Now” or “Buy Now” link on the WDYT.com.au site immediately before making your purchase.
By doing one of the following, you may not be eligible to earn a reward for shopping with WDYT.com.au:
- Don’t click through to your selected retailer from another shopping directory or comparison site
- Don’t click on a banner advertising the same online retailer
- Don’t complete your purchase over consecutive days
- Can I use my WDYT.com.au reward points to shop online?
Currently you are unable to use the reward points you earn to immediately shop online. You can however, use your reward points to redeem real cash which is sent to your bank account and can then be used to make an online purchase. Visit the Reward Redemption section for more information.
- I don’t have a credit card; can I still shop online with WDYT.com.au reward partners?
Many online retailers accept different payment types including credit card, PayPal and direct bank transfers. Remember to check with your selected retailer to see which payment types they accept.
- How long does it take for my reward points to be added to my account?
It can take up to 60 days for your reward points to be available in your WDYT.com.au account.
This is because the retailer you made your purchase through needs to process your order and provide us with a sales report including your transaction. Please have patience and be assured we will award your reward points as soon as possible.
- How can I see if my reward points have been added to my account?
Once you have made your purchase, you will be able to keep track of your reward points by visiting the My Purchases section. Here you will see each purchase you have made, the number of reward points you will receive and also see if the points have been awarded to your WDYT.com.au account.
You can also see when your reward points have been added to your account in your Event Log.
- Why can't I see my recent purchase in the "My Purchases" section?
It can take up 30 days for our shopping partners to tell us you have made a purchase.
As soon as they have let us know you've made a purchase, you will be able to see the details and track the status of your reward on the My purchases page.

- What is a post?A post is any entry submitted to the forum.
- What is a thread?A thread is a linear series of posts and its subsequent replies.
- How do I post a new comment?
To create a new post directly to a poll, click on the "Comment On This Poll" link located at the bottom of each answered quick poll. To reply to a post, simply click on the 'reply' link for the post you wish to respond to. A dialogue box will appear for you to enter your reply.
- How do I search for a particular poll?
To search for polls, click Polls -> Search Polls from the main menu. You can also browse the latest polls or polls in any category using the menu on the left side of any page in the polls section of the site.
- Why should I rate posts?
Rating posts is simply a polite way of acknowledging to a poster that you enjoyed (or didn't enjoy) what they have written. We have incorporated a post rating system into the poll comments to de-clutter the flow of dialogue so that people can give thanks without stretching out threads unnecessarily with short messages of appreciation, and can stay on topic. By rating posts, you make the environment more comfortable for yourself, and for other readers. People browsing the comments can see which posts rate highly (and inversely which rate lowly) and can therefore allow members to be more selective about what they choose to read or respond to.
- I rated a post, but it doesn't seem to have made a difference to the post's overall rating? Why?Your vote is counted along with votes from other forum users. A single vote may not have an immediately noticeable impact, however, if enough votes are cast in a similar way, you will begin to see a change.
- Why was my post removed?
From time to time, posts are removed if they are in breach of the WDYT's Terms and Conditions. Typically members will nominate posts to be removed using the “report abuse” function. WDYT Member Support may from time to time also take a more direct role in deleting posts that are considered abusive, offensive or inappropriate for our online community.
- When should I report abuse?
You should only report abuse if you feel the post you are reporting has breached WDYT's Terms and Conditions.
- My post was deleted, but I believe it shouldn‘t have been. Can you retrieve it?
If your post was removed in error, you can contact our support team.
- Can I post HTML or images in my posts?
No. HTML has been removed from poll comments.
- Can I delete my own posts?
As WDYT is a widely accessible resource, we wish to encourage a community that thinks before they post comments. Members should be vigilant about what they post, and to be considerate of other readers before they post. You can submit a “report abuse” request for your own post if you would like it to be removed. As a general rule of thumb, do not post anything unless you are prepared for the repercussions, including the fact that your content may not be deleted. Never submit personally identifiable information in your poll comments.
Members
- Are there any restrictions for membership?You must be an Australian resident, and you must be at least 16 years of age to register as a WDYT Panel member.
- Can I hold more than one member account?
We only allow one account for each member. Any member who is found to provide false information may have their privileges and reward points revoked as per our terms of service.
- What will you do with the information I provide you during the registration process?We only wish to send you information that will be relevant to your lifestyle and preferences at any given time. The information you provide us is one way of ensuring we can do this effectively. To improve the relevancy of information, you may wish to consider editing your profile regularly as you move in and out of purchasing considerations.
- What will you do with the information and opinions I volunteer for the surveys?Your information and responses to surveys are compiled along with other Panel Members who have responded. This information is distributed to researchers in aggregate so your individual responses are offered anonymously. WDYT does not sell or reveal your contact details to third parties. - If I unsubscribe/resign from the WDYT Panel, will I lose my points?
Yes, and we’d be sorry to see you leave :-(
We offer a 14 day grace period after you unsubscribe, and you can reactivate your account by logging in to WDYT during this period, and hang on to your points. After the grace period has expired, your account will be permanently terminated, and you will not be able to recover your points.
- What kind of promotions will I receive?In addition to receiving surveys, you are likely to receive information on new and current products and services, new releases, sneak previews, special offers, invitations to events and competition entry forms.
- How often should I expect emails from whatdoyouthink.com.au?
We believe you should only receive emails that will be of relevance to you. Your email frequency will therefore depend on many factors including, but not limited to your specified interest profile, your location and the sponsorship partners who are looking to promote to you. Depending on your membership type, you can expect to receive up to 10 email promotions and survey invitations per day.
- How can I identify WDYT promotional emails?
WDYT emails will be sent from the email address "WDYTMail@wdyt.com.au" and will be distinctively branded. They will always include your registered screen name, first name and current WDYT points balance. To ensure you always get your emails from us, you should add our email address, "WDYTMail@wdyt.com.au", to your address book.
- Do I have to receive surveys/email promotions from WDYT?
Yes - by joining WDYT and accepting our terms and conditions, you agree to receive promotional emails and survey invitations from us. Each email we send you is an opportunity for you to earn reward points, which you can then use to redeem great rewards. You can control the number of emails you receive by choosing regular membership for fewer emails, or premium membership for more emails. You can switch membership type at any time on the account page.
- I don't seem to be receiving many surveys/email promotions. How can I improve my chances?
The best way to ensure you receive as many emails as possible is to make sure you complete all available profile modules, and keep them updated when your situation changes. This way we know what type of promotions and surveys will be of interest to you.
If you are not already a premium member, you can upgrade now for free which will increase the number of chances you have for receiving emails each day.
Premium Membership
- What is a Premium Membership and how does it differ from Regular Membership?
Premium Membership is 100% Free and gives you more opportunities to earn points and get rewards. You will also have the opportunity to participate in special Premium Member only promotions. As you receive more invitations to participate in online surveys and promotions, you will be able to earn more points and get more rewards.
- Are there any restrictions to becoming a Premium Member?
No, Premium Membership is available to all members - and is 100% Free. To be eligible for membership, all you need to do is comply with our Terms & Conditions. You can switch between membership types at any time by logging into the Account section.
- What are the benefits of Premium Membership?Premium membership is designed to reward you faster by giving you more opportunities to receive email promotions and surveys and earn points more quickly. The more promotions and survey inviations you respond to, the more points you will earn and therefore the more quickly you will be able to redeem your points for rewards. As a Premium Member, you will also be able to participate in special Premium Member promotions, giving you even more rewards for participating.
- If I change my membership from Regular to Premium, will I lose my points?No. Any change of membership type will not affect you points balance.
- Will the promotional emails I receive with a Premium Membership look the same as the ones you send to people on a Regular Membership?
Yes. As with a Regular Membership, all promotional emails and surveys sent from us will be immediately identifiable.

- How many promotional communications will I receive per day on a Premium Membership?
Depending on the number of email promotions scheduled for any day, you may receive up to 10 email promotions and surveys from us per day as a Premium Membership.
- Do Premium Member points and Regular member points have the same value?Yes. All points earned on a Premium Membership will be equal in value to points earned on a Regular Membership. However you will have greater opportunity to earn points as a Premium Membership.
- If I switch to Premium Membership, can I change my account back to a Regular Membership if I change my mind?
Yes, you can change your account from Premium to Regular and vice versa at any time. To do this, all you need to log into WDYT and go to the Account section.
Quick Polls
- I have submitted a Poll suggestion – how will I know when it will be published?You will receive an email notifying you of when your suggestion will be published on the site. We encourage you to forward this email to your friends so that they can take part in the voting process.
- I suggested a Poll but it hasn’t been published. What can I do to improve my chances?
Your suggestion may simply be in the process of approval and editing or it may have been denied for any number of reasons. If your suggestion does not get published, we will send you an email to let you know why. To improve your chances of having a quickpoll published, make many suggestions and try to think of original ideas that others won't have suggested before.
- I suggested a Poll, and it looks like it has been published with someone else’s screen name! Why has this happened?
We publish polls on a first-come, first-served basis. Where we receive similar poll suggestions, the author who first submits a publishable poll suggestion will be credited for the idea.
- Can I publish a Poll's result in my report/article?
Yes, the information has been provided free. But please ensure you read and abide by our terms of service.
- Can I suggest a Poll without becoming a member?
No. This feature is a benefit for our members.
Reward Points
- How can I earn more Reward Points?
You earn Reward Points for responding to email promotions and participating in paid surveys you have been invited to take part in. In the case of "invitation only" surveys, researchers often have sizeable, but limited response quotas and time frames to report within. As a rule of thumb, if you respond as soon as you receive a survey invitation, you'll have a stronger chance to reap the maximum amount of Reward Points allocated for completing a survey.
Another way to ensure you are earning as many points as possible is to regularly update your profile modules. As well as earning points for each module you complete, you can improve your chances of receiving more emails if you have a wider range of interests.
- Do I earn Reward Points for voting on a Poll?
Unfortunately, reward points are not given for participating in a Poll. You can earn points by completing profile modules, and by clicking on promotional emails and participating in surveys.
- Will my Reward Points expire?
So long as your account remains active, your Reward Points will not expire! And furthermore, as our catalogue of rewards grow, you'll have more opportunities to spend those points. Your points balance will be automatically reduced when you purchase items from our Rewards Catalogue or redeem cash into your bank account.
- What happens if I don't respond to an email promotion or survey invitation?If you don't respond to email promotions or survey inviations you will not earn any reward points. Please be wary of closing dates advertised on some of our email communications. If you choose to respond after the date indicated, then you may not be eligible to collect the reward points related to a particular email.
- I responded to a survey invitation, but the survey was full! Why?Survey invitations are very popular amongst our members. Some surveys will have set quotas for responses and in most cases, they will also specify a closing date for responses. From time to time, we may have survey response quotas filled well before the closing date. The people who respond quickest have the best chance to accumulate the maximum amount of reward points allocated to that survey, so it pays to be vigilant of your WDYT emails.

- I’ve registered with the wrong email address. What should I do?Log in to the Account section of whatdoyouthink.com.au using the incorrect email address you registered with and password, then follow the instructions to amend your email address in the Account area of the website.
- Help! I've forgotten my username/password!
Don't worry! Visit our forgotten password page to reset your password. You'll need your registered email address. If you don't know your registered email address, contact our support team for assistance.
- Can I change my screen name?
As a preventative measure, we generally do not allow this. If you have a compelling reason for wanting to change your screen name, please contact our support team.
- Can I change my password?
Yes, you can change your password via the Account section of the website. If you have forgotten your WDYT password, please visit the forgotten password page.
- My email address/contact details/interest profile has changed. How do I amend my details?
Your details can be amended at any time via the Account page. You will need to log into the system using your current email address and password. You can earn reward points for keeping your profile up to date, so check back regularly to see if there are points available.
- How do I unsubscribe/resign from the WDYT Reward Program?
You can unsubscribe from the WDYT Reward Program via the Account section of the website. Additionally, at the bottom of each email promotion we send to you, there is a link to unsubscribe from the service. Please note that when you unsubscribe, your account remains in a grace status for a period of 14 days, during which you can reactivate your account if you change your mind. Once this grace period has expired, your account is permanently terminated, and any reward points you have earned will be forfeited.
- Do I need any special software to participate in surveys/email promotions?
For the majority of cases, all you will need is an internet connection, a working email address and a reliable web browser to read our surveys and email promotions. From time to time, you may also receive special surveys or promotions such as movie trailers or a sneak peak of a TV or radio commercial so a working sound card and appropriate software may be required. This might include web browser plugins and/or software for rich media, video, audio, flash animation and portable document files (PDFs). Programs such as Macromedia Flash Player, Apple Quicktime, Microsoft Media Player, Real Player, and Acrobat Reader are readily available for free online.
