They are here to stay, they are highly convenient, and of course they CAN be a hazard. It is up to the user to be responsible in using them. Cars CAN be hazards too!! It is up to the driver to make sure they don't become so.

What do you mean by "hazard"? Will they attack and bite you? Will they chop your head off? They are a hazard when they are in use while driving of even walking down the steet.
Are they a hazard as far as radiation induced illnesses are concerened? I think the jury's still out on that one.

iv read about this and heard from other people that long term use can cause brain damage from radio waves but iv had mobile phones for ten years and im just not sure if its effecting me.

The earlier mobile phones were affecting people who used them a great deal but I am not sure if any studies are being done on mobile phone towers or modern mobiles. They do warn that long term use can cause brain tumours in some people. I believe that hands free is better since it is holding the phone to the head that causes the damage.
