Most Definitely. You can clearly tell the difference from an homegrown fruit to a supermarket fruit.

Fruit from the markets/growers is the best choice than shop brought. Here in Perth WA we has access to this. In abundance. Most jist sadly don't seem to be interested the 30min drive to obtain it.

GM fruit not an issue here in Australia yet. Taste issues more due to commercially-grown fruit requirements: need for compromise on taste due to yield, ability to be stored for long lengths of time, transport conditions, spoilage rate, reliability, seasonality.

I live in Australia, we do not have GM fruit that I am aware of. Fruit loses it's flavour because it is not allowed to ripen on the plant, but is picked green and left to ripen either in cold store, or on the shelf at the supermarket. neither ripens fruit properly, the sweetness and flavour comes from ripening in the sun whilst attached to the tree
