I presume that the people who voted here have an intimate knowledge of the way technology is used in schools and how training of the children takes place.

I am the IT teacher in a large suburban school. I run a fully functioning computer lab with a class set of desktop computers. I teach from 18 to 30 children at a time four and a half days per week.

Each child is given a specific targeted one hour lesson in how to use the hardware and software to enhance their lives and learning. This goes for children five-twelve years of age.

The other staff were involved in planning a program that supports what they teach in the classroom.I also have to consider my lesson content based on the fact that some children come from technology-rich homes while others have limited or zero access to such back-up.

Not every school is as feel-resourced as mine, nor is every IT teacher as well-trained but I fail to see on what people are basing their voting here. (to be continued)
