@Katie8, be that as it may, are you being hypocritical when you say what has someone's age got to do with their ability to drive? Aren't you discriminating males aged 18-26 in the same way you would be discriminating senior citizens?

I don't necessarily think that seniors should have to display themselves as such (in many cases you can tell without it being displayed!!!), but I am very much for the idea of seniors having to do regular road tests to make sure they are still fully capable to drive. My own grandfather drove for many years but couldn't even turn his head a full 90degrees to look for traffic.

No, it's discriminatory! What has someone's age got to do with their ability to drive? The fact is that the most dangerous people on the roads are young males aged between 18 and 26. The cost to insure males of this age group are astronomical and proof that this group are considered are much bigger risk than senior citizens. Perhaps the initials HRD (High Risk Driver) should be put on the plates of this age group instead ????

I'm 73 and an excellent driver as I was trained professionally as a teen. I think I would appreciate an S to let people know I'm a senior so don't beep your horn if I'm waiting patiently or courteously for someone, or if I pull over for an ambulance or wait behind the line and don't crowd the intersection, or refuse to let you scoot up the left lane and try to push in in front of me...

Do young people have to display a Y sign? Or disabled drivers a D sign? The list could go on and on until there is no-one who wouldn't have to display some judgement call by a do-gooder backed up by mindless bureaucrats.
