traditional marriage is gone, I think that's why it works so well now.

Whose tradition? It's a feudal concept based on male ownership. Good riddance.

Marriage should be a voluntary union, between two people (regardless of sex) who love honour and respect one another and who have no ulterior motives, i.e. not for money, power, privelege or even sympathy. Some of the traditional & key values of marriage, respect, fidelity love are inherent in today's union's. Marriage should in my opinion last a lifetime, and thiose not capable of being faithful and honest should just simply put not marry at all.

Traditional meaning of marriage was lost long ago: my father didn't get any $$$ for marrying me off. Modern marriage is about love and great company and partnerships.

What is the traditional meaning of marriage? It was only ever a property deal between two families. In fact it made women worthless since the men looked for the women who had the most dowry and had nothing to do with love. Women who had no dowry were considered worthless. Modern marriage is about love and that cannot be devalued by allowing same sex couples to marry.
